Ministry Bio:
In 1990, Christine Shippey received a very powerful and intense call into ministry. From that time she has served as Praise and Worship Leader, prolific Bible Teacher, Associate Pastor, and Pastor.
During these years she has moved heavily in the Prophetic Anointing while conducting local Healing and Teaching Revivals.
While serving as the Associate Pastor of River of God Church in La Porte, Texas, Pastor Shippey somewhat reluctantly became involved with their Prison Ministry. Prison ministry had never really interested her but after preaching a few services there something began to tug on her heart. During intense times of intercession she began to hear the inner groanings of the prisoners. Her heart began to beat as God’s heart and a compassion she didn’t understand began to constrain her. She could not escape the sights and sounds of the prisoners without realizing that she must become a part of Christ’s Divine Commission: Ps 102:19-20 "The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners & release those condemned to death."
This experience produced a profound change in Pastor Shippey. After amicably resigning from La Porte River of God, she felt God leading her to pioneer a Faith Based, Christ Centered, Rehab and Re-entry ministry. Thus Covenant for Christ International, Inc. was founded.
Pastor Christine is compelled in her spirit to comply with God's Covenant of Christ-like Compassion as stated in Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.”
On a more personal note, Pastor Shippey has been married to Dwayne Shippey for more than two decades. The Shippey's are the proud parents of 2 boys, Dustin and Clint. Pastor Shippey is a graduate of Logos Bible Institute, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from Logos Bible Institute of Theology. Dr. Christine Shippey is credentialed as a Ordained Minister with the Independent Assemblies.
